Oxford online adds 'fat-shame,' 'hangry,' 'awesomesauce'

OXFORD, England (UPI) -- The Oxford University Press announced new words added to OxfordDictionaries.com, including "awesomesauce," hangry and fat shame.
Oxford said the quarterly update, which took effect Wednesday, also includes the addition of terms "butthurt," rando, rage-quit, microaggression,fur baby and pwnage."
The publisher said the words were added to OxfordDictionaries.com, which is separate from its venerable Oxford English Dictionary.
"The English language dictionary content on OxfordDictionaries.com focuses on current English and includes modern meanings of words and associated usage examples," the publisher said. The OED, on the other hand, is a historical dictionary and forms a record of all the core words and meanings in English over more than 1,000 years, from Old English to the present day, including many obsolete and historical terms.
The new additions, with brief definitions, include:
awesomesauce, adj.: (US informal) extremely good; excellent
beer o'clock, n: an appropriate time of day for starting to drink beer
blockchain, n.: a digital ledger in which transactions made in bitcoin or another cryptocurrency are recorded chronologically and publicly
brain fart, n.: (informal) a temporary mental lapse or failure to reason correctly
bruh, n: (US informal) a male friend (often used as a form of address)
