VERO BEACH, Fla. (UPI) -- A Florida photographer captured the moment a bobcat dragged a 4-foot-long shark out of the water and onto the beach.

John Bailey said he was walking Monday through Sebastian Inlet State Park in Vero Beach when he spotted a bobcat looking out into the water.

Bailey said the feline appeared to be watching a shark feeding on small fish in the shallows before the bobcat pounced into the water and dragged the 4-foot shark out onto the beach.

The photo snapped by Bailey shows the bobcat dragging the shark by its tail.

Bailey said he may have gotten too close to the bobcat while taking the picture, as the animal appeared to have been spooked and ran off without its prey.

Wildlife experts said it is not uncommon for bobcats to wander Florida beaches, but they are not often caught on camera.
