Boston area man shipping snow across the country

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, Mass. (UPI) -- A Boston area man is packaging and selling some of the region's record-setting snowfall, but he warns some of the product may end up delivered as water.

Kyle Waring, proprietor of ShipSnowYo.com, said he came up with the idea of putting the snow into water bottles and shipping it across the country while shoveling with his wife at their Manchester-by-the-Sea home.

Waring said a 16.9 ounce bottle of snow costs $19.99 to ship almost anywhere in the United States -- the website states snow will not be shipped to the northeast because "we're in the business of expunging snow" -- but there are no guarantees that the snow will not be mere water by the time it arrives. A more expensive package, running $89, features 6 pounds of snow being shipped in a Styrofoam container that the company guarantees will keep the product in snow form.

Waring said he is planning a $119 option with a 10-pound package of snow.

"At this rate, it's going to be July until the snow melts," he told Boston.com. But I've thought about taking this idea and running with it for other seasonal items. Maybe I'll ship someĀ fall foliage.
