DUNCAN, Okla. (UPI) -- Police in Oklahoma said a woman arrested on meth charges said she is legally entitled to the drug because it is part of her Wiccan religion.

Duncan police said Lori Potarf and Richard Lee Henderson were pulled over Thursday evening with a tail light out and an officer found both of the car's occupants were carrying velvet Crown Royal whisky bags containing drug paraphernalia with methamphetamine residue.

Potarf allegedly told the officer she is entitled to posses meth because use of the drug is part of her beliefs as a Wiccan. She was arrested on possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

Henderson, who police said did not make any religious claims, was arrested on drug charges as well as outstanding arrests warrants out of Comanche County.
