CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (UPI) -- The "Mighty Mom" breast pumping belt was declared the winner of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Make The Breast Pump Not Suck Hackathon.

The two-day event, which involved more than 150 engineers, designers, specialists and breast pump users, resulted in a $3,000 prize for the team behind the "Mighty Mom" design, which was described as a discrete and easy-to-use way for moms to pump their breast milk while keeping their hands free for day-to-day activities.

The "Mighty Mom" pump, which designers said proves every mom is a super hero, was chosen as the best of 10 designs.

The winning team, which received a $3,000 prize from Vecna Technologies, was dubbed "Team What Would Batman Do" in honor of the Caped Crusader's utility belt inspiring their design.

"The breast pump sucks but we all love our babies more. So there seemed to be an obvious need to fix this," Erin Freeburger, a member of the winning team, told Boston.com. And, I think another thing was bringing people's voices to the fore front and realizing that everyone has the same three to five key issues with [the breast pump].
