Dog Breeds - Siberian Husky

The Siberian Husky is a medium-sized working dog breed that originated in eastern Siberia. Known for their ability to thrive in the arctic cold, they can work and live in temperatures as low as 75 degrees below zero Fahrenheit.

Despite their wolf-like appearance, they have a gentle temperament and can be extremely affectionate, curious, and welcoming, characteristics that make them poor guard dogs. Despite their affectionate nature, they aren't as "eager-to-please" as other breeds and proper training requires persistence and patience. They also have strong running instincts and should never be left to run free off-leash as they have no homing instincts and will run forever. Siberians also dig large holes.

While Siberians make good family pets they're not recommended for first time dog owners, as their strong will and desire to run are difficult to manage without the right knowledge.
