Finance for children is on the curriculum
The Cool Head Co. plans to initiate a course called "Fun With Finance" at two London schools in late October, a company statement said.
Cool Head Co. is run by an investment banker, a teacher and a World Bank economist, but the curriculum is geared toward creativity, as well as crunching numbers.
"The aim is to make the week a fun and exciting mixture of prize-winning games and competitions," said Cool Head director, Kate Kuper.
On the curriculum is a competition to allow children to come up with business ideas, designing new currencies and writing television commercials to promote their own entrepreneurial ideas. The 9 to 13 year olds will also sit down to run through "a bunch of 'physical finance,''' the statement said.
"We believe this is the first time that a children's camp has been run in this way in the U.K., using fun activities to explore the world of money and business -- something that is particularly pertinent at the moment," Kuper said.
