Benjamin International pendants recalled

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Benjamin International pendants and charms due to a risk of lead exposure.

About 57,000 of the Fairy Dust Pendants and Candle Charms, imported from Hong Kong by Benjamin International of Middlebury, Conn., were sold at gift shops nationwide from February 2004-February 2008 for $12-$15.

The pewter pendants, sold with a variety of colored candles in collections of 12, contain potentially dangerous levels of lead. The pendants were also sold separately, CPSC said.

Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled pendants and contact Benjamin International for a free replacement.

Consumers can call 888-249-7639 for information.
