MIAMI — U.S. Customs and Border Protection has published a travel guide for people planning a trip to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including matches in Miami, with official resources on travel documents, admission and other tools visitors may need before and during their trip.

On its World Cup travel page, CBP advises travelers to review information related to visas, passports, the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), Form I-94 and other immigration-related resources before heading to the U.S.

What travelers should review before coming to the U.S. for the World Cup

According to CBP’s guide, international visitors should make sure they understand what documents they need to enter the United States, depending on their nationality and travel circumstances.

The agency directs travelers to official resources for:

— Visa or ESTA authorization, if applicable

— Valid passports

— Form I-94

— Petitions for certain nonimmigrant workers

— Official FIFA match schedules, tickets and event details

Customs and Border Protection says travelers using the Visa Waiver Program should check the ESTA system, while those who need to apply for or retrieve their travel record can do so through the I-94 system.

The agency also directs travelers to the U.S. State Department for visa and passport questions and to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for certain non-immigrant worker petitions.

Miami will host World Cup matches

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, and will include matches in Miami, one of the host cities in the United States.

That expected influx of international visitors is part of why CBP is encouraging travelers to prepare in advance and review official resources before departure.

What CBP recommends while you are in the United States

CBP also created a separate page for people who are already in the U.S. during the tournament.

That section includes resources related to travel within the United States, Form I-94 and other practical tools for international travelers.

Official links CBP says international travelers should review

These are some of the resources CBP highlights for people planning to travel to the United States for the 2026 World Cup:

— ESTA (Visa Waiver Program)

— Form I-94

— U.S. Department of State, for visa and passport information

— USCIS, for certain non-immigrant worker petitions

— FIFA, for match schedules, tickets and tournament details

The key takeaway before traveling

The main message of the guide is simple: if you are planning to come to the United States for the 2026 World Cup, it is best to review your documents and travel requirements before boarding your flight.

Travelers may also want to review what to expect at U.S. airports, where CPB has recently expanded some screening measures while also promoting faster entry options.

For many international visitors — especially those traveling under ESTA or who may need to review their I-94 — preparing ahead of time could help avoid delays or last-minute confusion before the tournament.
