Golden Knights clinch playoff spot, downing Avalanche in OT

DENVER — The Vegas Golden Knights are going to the playoffs for the eighth time in nine seasons after defeating the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2 in overtime, at Ball Arena on Saturday.
Jack Eichel scored the winning 2-on-1 goal 1:19 into overtime.
Captain Mark Stone scored his third goal in two games, and Pavel Dorofeyev scored his career-high 36th goal for the Knights (37-26-17), who went 3-0-1 in their final road trip of the season.
Goaltender Carter Hart made 30 saves to push the Knights back into first place in the Pacific Division with two games to go.
