The Vegas Golden Knights were able to hang in there against one of the best teams in the NHL, but their downward slide continued in a 2-1 loss to the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center on Tuesday.
Jack Eichel scored for the second straight game, but the Knights (29-22-14) lost their third straight and for the sixth time in their last seven games.
Adin Hill finished with 14 saves.
The Knights don’t take a ton of penalties, but they gave the Stars five power plays.
Dallas captain Jamie Benn scored the game-winning goal on the man advantage at 14:16 of the second period.
The Stars (40-14-10) extended their point streak to 13 games (12-0-1).
The Knights, meanwhile, went 0 for 3 on the power play. They outshot the Stars 25-16 but only got one past Dallas goaltender Jake Oettinger.
