CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Brandon Miller will be a Charlotte Hornet for the foreseeable future.
A league source confirmed to The Charlotte Observer that Miller — a former No. 2 draft pick — has agreed to a five-year, $209 million rookie-scale contract extension.
Miller, 23, will begin his fourth year in the NBA this season. He has averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season, while shooting 43.5% from the field.
Miller, along with rookie Kon Knueppel and LaMelo Ball, helped lead the Hornets on strong run in the second half of last season, ending with a berth in the NBA Play-In.
With Ball now playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miller will play an even bigger role for the Hornets, who also traded away forward Miles Bridges in the offseason.
