CHICAGO — Part of Anthony Edwards’ offseason this summer included a personal milestone.

Edwards married his longtime partner Shannon Jackson, according to Minnesota marriage records.

Social media internet sleuths spotted a ring on Edwards’ left ring finger as he made appearances on July 17 at Fanatics Fest in New York.

A marriage certificate issued by Hennepin County confirms Edwards and Jackson were married the previous day, July 16.

Edwards, 24, and Jackson, 36, have a daughter, Aislynn. The Netflix documentary “Starting 5” showed Edwards leaving a home game in March 2024 against the Kings at halftime in order to be at the hospital with Jackson for Aislynn’s birth.

The Wolves’ four-time All-Star guard was the first overall pick in the NBA draft in 2020 after one season at Georgia. He won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Olympics.

He is entering his seventh season in Minnesota and just completed the second season of a five-year, $245 million deal. After an offseason of change for the Wolves, Edwards will team up in the backcourt with LaMelo Ball, whom the team acquired in a trade from the Charlotte Hornets in a package that included forward Naz Reid. They are still in the mix to land free agent forward LeBron James, Edwards’ teammate on the 2024 Olympic team.

Edwards has led the most successful stretch of postseason basketball in franchise history. The Wolves have won five playoff series in three seasons, including back-to-back runs to the Western Conference finals in 2024 and 2025. Edwards suffered a hyperextension and bone bruise in his left knee in Game 4 against the Nuggets this postseason, but returned in time for Game 1 of the team’s series against the Spurs after missing only two games.

He has been seemingly healthy this offseason and back in the gym, with the team posting multiple photos and videos of him working out at its facility.
