NEW YORK — Mayor Zohran Mamdani revealed that he paid $1,000 for a standing-room-only ticket to see the New York Knicks play their first Finals home game on Monday night.

Madison Square Garden sells off a limited number of the seatless tickets at a slightly lower price — though for this game, ticket prices have skyrocketed, with the cheapest available tickets currently at around $4,000 and closer-up seats listed on Stubhub for north of $30,000.

Mamdani, who’s said he’ll be attending the game with a “few friends,” said he purchased his ticket straight from the Garden.

President Donald Trump is also expected to attend Game 3, causing a massive security undertaking for the arena, which is asking fans to arrive two hours before tip-off.

It’s been nearly 27 years since the NBA Finals last took place at Madison Square Garden, in 1999. The Knicks lost that tournament to the San Antonio Spurs, but fans hope the team has a better chance of coming away with the title in this year’s rematch, with the team at a 2-0 after winning the first two games in San Antonio.
