ORLANDO, Fla.— The Detroit Pistons began the fourth quarter on a 5-0 run after entering the period trailing 75-69. They managed to come within one point at 75-74, but then Tobias Harris committed a foul against Paolo Banchero, resulting in an and-one basket for the All-Star forward.
On the following offensive possession, Isaiah Stewart was called for an offensive foul, leading to a turnover for the Pistons. This brief stretch of challenges highlighted how the Pistons suffered a 94-88 loss to the Orlando Magic in Game 4 on Monday night at Kia Center. The Pistons now trail the Magic 3-1 in the best-of-seven, first-round series.
Each time it seemed the Pistons would get things going on both ends, a foul or turnover would kill the momentum. The Pistons finished with 20 turnovers, seven of which came within the first four minutes of the first quarter. They also put the Magic on the line 34 times, where they connected on 73.5% of their foul shots.
Cade Cunningham scored 25 points to lead the Pistons on 7-of-23 shooting. He also added six assists and nine rebounds. However, turnovers overshadowed his night. He finished with eight turnovers and now has 24 for the entire series.
Tobias Harris gave the Pistons the biggest boost, adding 20 points and six rebounds. Stewart put in his best defensive production by accounting for eight of Detroit's 18 blocks.
Desmond Bane led Orlando with 22 points on 5-of-10 shooting from behind the arc. Paolo Banchero added 18 points and eight rebounds. Before going down with a calf injury, Franz Wagner contributed with 19 points and four steals.
