MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Lynx star forward Napheesa Collier, who underwent surgeries on both ankles in the WNBA offseason, is on a timeline to resume on-court activities in early June, the Lynx announced Tuesday.

“Collier underwent successful surgery on her left ankle on March 24,” the team’s news release said. “Her rehabilitation is progressing as expected, and the current timeline for a return to on-court activities is early June. ... Further updates on Collier’s progress will be provided when available.”

Collier announced Jan. 1 that she would undergo surgeries on both ankles to address injuries that occurred during the 2025 WNBA season, including the left ankle injury that sidelined her in the playoff semifinals. The initial estimated timeline for her return was 4-6 months.

Since then, Collier was designated as a “core” player by the Lynx and re-signed with Minnesota on a one-year supermax contract worth $1.4 million. She has been present but not a participant at Lynx training camp this week, wearing a walking boot on her left foot.

“I’m just working as fast as I can with my doctors and my PT staff, just trying to get back on the court,” Collier said during a news conference on April 17. “Everything’s going well, so you’ll see me soon.”

Collier, a five-time All-Star since being drafted by Minnesota in 2019, is coming off back-to-back seasons as the runner-up in MVP voting and is one of a few returning players on a Lynx team that saw six of last year’s nine top rotation players depart during free agency and the expansion draft.

The Lynx’s WNBA regular season schedule tips off on May 10 and runs through Sept. 24.
