BOSTON — After Friday’s win over the Hornets, in which Payton Pritchard set a career-high 31 points in three quarters before sitting on the bench for the final quarter, he was asked if he wanted to stay in to add to his tally. The Celtics guard said no.

“I think eventually in my career, I’ll get another opportunity and I’ll pass it then,” Pritchard said.

Eventually came two days later. With the Celtics’ top six players out for a second consecutive game to finish the regular season, TD Garden was home to the Pritchard show this weekend. In Sunday’s finale, Pritchard followed up his career performance with another one as he scored 38 points with 12 assists and nine rebounds to lead the Celtics to a 132-122 victory.

Svi Mykhailiuk and Neemias Queta also set career highs with 26 and 19 points a piece as the Celtics finished the regular season with 64 wins, which stands alone as the fourth-most in franchise history. Their next game will come next Sunday for Game 1 of the playoffs.
