SEATTLE — Jimothy, the beloved Seattle raccoon from the Ballard neighborhood with a short spine, has quickly become a Seattle icon and will be honored with his own promotional night at the Mariners game on Aug. 5.

The Mariners have already leaned into the viral raccoon, having a Jimothy-inspired competitor win the Salmon Run on July 18. The team has also used the raccoon in graphics on the video board during games and as a profile picture on their social media accounts.

Julio Rodríguez even got in on the action, having Jimothy shirts made that his teammates wore during batting practice last weekend in Texas.

Now, fans can get their own shirts that depict a cartoon Jimothy repping the M’s.

Fans wanting the special Jimothy Mariners shirt must purchase tickets through the promotion link. The team has also stated that $2 from each ticket will go to the Ballard Food Bank in the raccoon’s home neighborhood.

The Mariners aren’t the only team celebrating the internet’s favorite raccoon. The Seattle Storm have also embraced him on their jumbotron, displaying graphics where the raccoon holds a “Jimo-three” banner when the team hits 3-pointers. The Rocket City Trash Pandas, the Los Angeles Angels’ Double-A affiliate based in Huntsville, Ala., are cashing in with a promotional night on Aug. 4.

Jimothy’s game kicks off at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday Aug. 5 when the Mariners host the Detroit Tigers for the second game of a three-game series.
