Robert J. Samuelson

Columnist Robert J. Samuelson first worked for the Washington Post in 1969 on the business desk. His first weekly column began in 1976 in the National Journal, where he worked as an economics reporter. The column was picked up a year later by the Post. In 1984, he also became a columnist for Newsweek, and went on to write two books and publish a collection of his columns. Samuelson has won a variety of honors, including a 1981 National Magazine Award, the Gerald Loeb award for Best Commentary in 1993, 1986, 1983, and the 1993 John Hancock Award for Best Business and Financial Columnist.
