Leonard Pitts Jr.

Leonard Pitts Jr. is a bestselling author and political journalist. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 2004.

Pitts was raised in Los Angeles and attended the University of Southern California. He got his start in journalism as a music writer with the Miami Herald. Shortly thereafter, he began writing about race, politics and culture.

Pitts books include "Becoming Dad: Black Men and the Journey to Fatherhood" and "Before I Forget."
