Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith on

DEAR STACY: I saw a photo of Blythe Danner when she was young and she looked like a twin of her daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow. Have mom and daughter ever worked together? What is Blythe up to lately? I'm a long-time admirer of her work. -- Kelly W., Columbia, South Carolina

DEAR KELLY: Danner and Paltrow acted together in the 1992 TV movie, "Cruel Doubt" and then again in 2003, in the big-screen "Sylvia," in which Gwyneth played poet Sylvia Plath and Blythe portrayed her mother. The 74-year-old actress/environmental advocate works often. She is in the cast of the upcoming Masterpiece Theater production of "The Chaperone," aka Julian Fellowes' follow-up to "Downton Abbey," set in 1922 America, and concerning young star Louise Brooks (Haley Lu Richardson). Elizabeth McGovern has the title role as Brooks' chaperone. Meanwhile, Danner was also recently cast to play Benedict Cumberbatch's wealthy Park Avenue aunt in an upcoming Showtime limited series based on the "Patrick Melrose" semi-autobiographical novels by Edward St. Aubyn.

DEAR STACY: There's a Coke commercial that starts off with a girl waxing a surfboard, and it has a song I really like, with the words "what a masterpiece." Can you tell who the singer is, and the name of the song? -- Alyssa830

DEAR ALYSSA830: The singer is Crista Ru of the alternative pop duo Powers. The song is called "Classic," made by The Knocks and featuring Powers, and it came out in 2014.

DEAR STACY: I saw a story that said Joss Whedon finished shooting "Justice League" after the death of original director Zack Snyder's 20-year-old daughter, but it did not give any details. What happened? -- CC, Florida

DEAR CC: Snyder, whose direction of superhero moves also includes "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," took time away from his professional life to focus on the rest of his family after daughter Amber, a Sarah Lawrence College student, died by suicide in March. Snyder's wife, Deborah, a producer on "Justice League" and Amber's stepmother, also stepped off the feature. The Snyders have seven other children through their earlier marriages and present one.

DEAR STACY: I heard that Robert Hegyes, who played Epstein on "Welcome Back, Kotter," died. He wasn't that old. What happened to him? -- debbllgb

DEAR debbllgb: Hegyes died of a heart attack in 2012. He was 60.
