TORONTO — The Red Wings continue to live, ever resiliently, in this playoff race.

They could have been eliminated from the playoff race with a loss in regulation Saturday, but captain Dylan Larkin scored 41 seconds into overtime to lift the Wings to a 5-4 victory over the Maple Leafs.

The Wings, with 87 points, tied Washington and Philadelphia for the last wild-card spot.

Goaltender James Reimer, playing his 500th NHL game, stopped 32 shots.

Toronto's Auston Mattews scored his 69th goal, on the power play, inching closer to the magical 70 mark.

Alex DeBrincat scored two first-period goals (one on a power play), and Simon Edvinsson and David Perron had first-period goals.

Mitch Marner (power play), Nick Robertson and John Tavares added Toronto goals.

The Wings finish the season with a home game Monday and on the road Tuesday, both against Montreal.
