SEATTLE — More of the same from Bryce Miller.

Something new from Mitch Garver.

Garver, the Mariner's new designated hitter, hit his first home run of the season to break a tie in the sixth inning to support another sensational start from Miller in the Mariners' 5-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday afternoon.

Cal Raleigh hit a solo homer off Reds starter Andrew Abbott in the second inning, and the Mariners (9-10) completed their first season sweep of the season before a crowd of 17,225 at T-Mobile Park.

The Mariners broke the game open in the seventh inning.

Josh Rojas hit a pinch-hit home run on the first pitch thrown by Reds reliever Lucas Sims to open the bottom of the seventh. It was a towering shot down the right-field line, and it was Rojas' first homer of the season.

Rookie Jonatan Clase, in his third big league came, walked, stole second base and scored on a sharp single from Mitch Haniger to make it 4-1.

Haniger has hit safely in eight straight games.

Sims then issued three straight walks to Garver, France and Raleigh, who gets credited with an RBI to score Haniger from third base, pushing the Mariners' lead to 5-1.

Miller came into the game with streak of 14 1/3 scoreless innings pitched. That stretched into the second inning Wednesday before Elly De La Cruz, the Reds' young star shortstop, turned on an inside slider and hit it 391 feet just over the wall in right field for a solo home.

But that would be the lone run — and the lone hit — Miller would allow across six innings. He threw 91 pitches, striking out seven and issuing only one walk.

He has allowed one run in his last 20 1/3 innings, lowering his season ERA to 1.85.

Trent Thornton, Gabe Speier and Austin Voth each pitched a scoreless inning to close it out.
