Orioles beat up on Rangers, 7-1

BALTIMORE -- Steve Pearce hit two of the four Baltimore homers against Joe Saunders on Monday, and Ubaldo Jimenez allowed an unearned run in eight innings as the Orioles beat the Rangers 7-1 at Camden Yards.

Pearce hit a two-run shot as the Orioles' second batter, following a leadoff walk to Nick Markakis, and Adam Jones also had a homer in the first en route to a 3-0 lead.

J.J. Hardy got Saunders to start the second, and Pearce added his second two-run shot in the fourth to put the Rangers in a 6-0 hole.

Saunders lasted five innings, surrendering all seven Baltimore runs, and threw 113 pitches in an effort to limit how much the bullpen would have to be worked. That was the only positive from Saunders, who is winless in eight starts this season.

Jimenez allowed only four hits, and the lone run against him came in the fifth as Chris Davis' high throw from third base pulled Pearce off the bag for an error that allowed Leonys Martin to score.
