Third suspect arrested for toddlers' fall

LAS VEGAS (UPI) -- A third person is facing charges after three toddlers fell from a moving car last weekend, Las Vegas police say.

Antonio Sanchez was arrested on seven counts of endangering a child, joining Vanessa Ramirez and Nancy Lopez in facing charges for Sunday's incident in northeast Las Vegas Valley, the Las Vegas Sun reported Tuesday.

Police allege Lopez was driving her Chrysler PT Cruiser Sunday night when her 3-year-old boy and Ramirez's 1-year-old twins fell out. Sanchez, who was in the vehicle's back seat, was allegedly seen retrieving one of the fallen children.

"When I asked Nancy, 'What happened tonight with your kids?' She replied, 'I have no idea. We were driving around. The door opened up and they fell out. I am going to jail, aren't I?'" an unidentified police officer alleges in a police report.

Lopez's son suffered minor injuries but Ramirez's children were in critical condition with unspecified injuries.

The Sun said Lopez is charged with seven counts of child endangerment, seven counts of having children unrestrained inside the car and driving under the influence of alcohol. Ramirez, who was not inside the vehicle during the incident, is facing seven counts of child endangerment.

Take the children and never let her near a child again. Guess that means sterilization and tight restrictions.lol. I am of the opinion that the law will let it slide and she will be free to drink all she wants and endanger her children's lives and all other people she is around-- hopefully the attorney and judge that gets her off for a tidy fee.

Sterilization

First of all, mandatory sterilization should be the first thing that happens. If we put them in jail to prevent them from re-breeding it costs us a lot of money. Sterilize them. They should not have any small thing under their care. And never return those children to those people.

Yeah, I know, the kids will be back in 2 weeks. The parents will have to go to parenting classes and that will be that.

Toddlers Fall

I am absolutely for harsh punishment for these scums who take hold lives, especially such young lives, in such little regard. If they are guilty, absolutely give them the most punative punishments possible. What I do not like however, is padding charges. There are three children, yet seven counts of endangerment charged each. How did three get to seven? Charge it fairly, punish fairly, stop plea agreements (which is the reason prosecutors pad charges) and apply justice equally.
