Charges expected in deadly Kansas accident
Police spokesman Jim Weaver said the teenage suspect, whose identity was not reported, was arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter for the July 18 death of Sandra Carocari, 70, The Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported Wednesday.
Carocari was gardening on the front lawn of her home when she was struck by a car. Police allege while the car's driver fled the scene, the unidentified teen later returned with her parents and admitted she had been driving the vehicle.
Weaver said police are awaiting the results of blood and urine tests on the teen to determine if the teen was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
The Star said the suspect, who is being held on a $100,000 bond, could face charges ranging from leaving the scene of an accident to driving on the sidewalk in addition to involuntary manslaughter counts.

I can't believe the parents were dumb enough to bring her back before her blood alcohol could drop. They will lose their home and everything else they own. Insurance will not pay if alcohol is involved, thanks to Mother's Against Drunk Drivers. If she is a minor the parents are really going to regret this.
What you should do is call 911 and report the accident and hide until your BAL comes down. Sorry but that is the way it is.
Of course, you could always drive sober and stop texting and not have these problems. But while I would beat the tar out of my kid I would not haul her back to the scene.
