Two Israelis injured in border wall clash

JERUSALEM (UPI) -- Two Israeli border guards were injured by stones thrown during a protest against the building of a security fence near Ramallah.

About 150 Palestinians, Israelis and other activists demonstrated against the barrier construction at the village of Nil'in. Israeli forces responded with crowd dispersal tactics while the wounded officers were evacuated to a Jerusalem hospital.

In a related event, the Israeli commander accused by human rights leaders of ordering one of his soldiers to shoot a handcuffed and blindfolded Palestinian demonstrator on the outskirts of Nil'in in July underwent a polygraph test. The results were that Lt. Col. Omri Burbarg was found to be telling the truth by denying the allegations against him, said Israeli officials.
