OAKLAND, Calif. (UPI) -- Convicted killer Hans Reiser has led
California police to the body of his estranged wife in exchange for a
reduction in his sentence, sources say.
Nina Reiser, 31, had been missing since Sept. 3, 2006, in the midst of
a contentious divorce from her husband, a well-known computer
programmer. Hans Reiser, 44, was convicted of first-degree murder even
though his wife's body had not been found. Resolving that issue could
result in a sentence reduction from 25 years to life in prison to a
second-degree conviction carrying a sentence of 15 to life, ABC News
reported Tuesday.
Shackled to his defense attorney, William Du Bois, Reiser reportedly
led police to a ravine in California's Redwood State Park where his
wife was buried deep in the ground inside a plastic bag.
