there is no implication. this is a parody of another comic strip.
Love is
It is all about what the cartoon implies, not what is exactly shown. Obviously there is no detail here (as is the case in Love Is) but the implication is that 2 teenagers have just slept togetheer and woken up to eat french toast in the nude. This is especially the implicaton if you have not followed the Love Is strips. This just is not appropriate for a daily newspaper which children read. How does a parent explain this to a little kid. My teenager also would not get the Love Is reference and so I guess I have to make sure I read the strip every day to explain the jokes to him?
Love Is...
Nudity was shown in Love Is, but the reason why they got away with it is because it wasn't detailed nudity. No genitalia or other body parts were displayed.
Parody
It's a parody of the "Love Is..." comic strip that first appeared back in the 1970s, featuring an oft-nude boy and girl flirting with each other, and the cartoon's title shown at the top, and the rest shown at the bottom, with phrases like "Love Is...being able to say you're sorry." or "Love Is...turning his head." The comic is still published today.

If Love Is got away with it for all these decades, what's the problem with this, except that nobody here seems to be familiar with Love Is?
the implication
since they are teens in the daily strip, to see them naked implies they are having breakfast together after a night together. as the mom of teens, this is not what I want to see in the morning.
censorship
My lame local newspaper, The Mountain Press in Sevierville, TN, censored todays strip. How nice of them to protect me, against my will, from this soul-robbing strip. Why does 2009 suddenly seem like 1984?
Nudity
Thanks for reminding us that what we are when we are naked, is our natural state. Very tasteful.... Well, all except the licking the frosting off and handing it to someone else :(
11/05/09 Zits
ok....I'm officially an old lady. I do not understand why jeremy and his doll-baby are sitting naked at the breakfast table? scott/bob...please clue me in....Thanks......karen
Hasn't anyone seen the strip, "Love is ..." It's two young nudies with sugary-sweet sayings. I haven't seen that strip in years, but this reminded me of it . . . and I like the "Love isn't. . ." better.
Nudist etiqutte says a towle should be placed on any surface you are going to rest your bare butt. Of course if the broad was resting her bare butt on my face no towel would be needed.
The soggy toaster strudel is a methaphor for Jeremy's limp noodle, hence the broads sad face.
this is a really weirdly unfathomable strip... usaully i LOVE LOVE zits, but this was just strange today
what?
I believe I may be a bit too young to understand the allusion. I love the strip most of the time; my brother IS Jeremy (fortunately I moved out before the full effect of it hit), but this particular strip is over my head. Jerry and Jim should strive to make their strips for all ages.
getting a little too far out there, time to real it back in.
I just hope they won't be going off on this "Love Isn't" tangent now, like with the dumb zombie ones.
cute
not jus for the old folks ;) loved the love is.. strips :)
ahhh... one for us old folks. I believe the Love Is kids were naked to symbolize they had nothing to hide from each other.
This just makes me think: why were the old "Love is..." characters always naked?
it's based on the old Love is... drawing and they were always without clothes in it.
Why?
Why are they naked? I don't get it...
