CHEYENNE, Wyo. (UPI) -- Prosecutors in Wyoming said a man charged with
counterfeiting money was allegedly planning to use the fake cash to
pay an exotic dancer.
Court documents say Rickey Kempter, 50, met two dancers at the Green
Door Lounge in Cheyenne Oct. 6 and later called the pair to schedule a
private dance at the Lariat Motel, The Wyoming Tribune-Eagle,
Cheyenne, reported.
The dancers picked up Kempter in a taxi and the driver told police he
dropped off one of the dancers and took the other woman and Kempter to
the motel. He said Kempter gave him a roll of $50 bills to hold while
they were in the motel.
"(The driver) noticed that the money was 'funny looking' and that
several of the $50 Federal Reserve notes were not cut evenly," court
documents state. "(The driver) further noticed that several of the $50
Federal Reserve notes had the same serial numbers."
The phony money was turned over to police and Kempter told
investigators he wanted to "front like the money was there" and
planned to pay the dancer with money from home. However, police were
unable to recover any real cash from his house.
Kempter admitted making the money on his home printer. Police said he
created $1,200 in counterfeit $50 bills. He is due back in court
Wednesday.
