Flagstaff mayor helps make drug arrest

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (UPI) -- An Arizona mayor meeting with a businessman in a city park discovered a man dealing drugs only 15 feet from her, police said.

Flagstaff Mayor Sara Presler told the Arizona Daily Sun she and John Vanlandingham watched Wednesday as the man made a series of sales, handing out packets to customers who handed over money. At least one person tried to bargain over the price, she said.

Presler said she continued to keep an eye on the man as her companion called police. Officers who searched him found marijuana and some money, mostly coins, police said.
