Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut wins pretzel contest
Chestnut took the $1,500 grand prize Saturday by out-eating Jammin' Joe LaRue, "Tripple X" Hall Hoover Hunt, Arturo "The Natural" Rios and Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas, the Miami Herald reported.
Tim "Eater X" Janus came in second and went home with $1,000 while the 99-pound Thomas was a close third, the newspaper said.
The 225-pound Chestnut, 23, started his professional eating career two years ago after placing third in a lobster eating contest.
"From there I just started entering in competitions and winning; it was so easy for me," he said.
