how about some analysis?

Let's say the average house is 2,000 square feet. (Mine is 1,200.) To get from one corner to the other is 90 feet along the walls (nobody walks along the walls, but this is the longest route). Ten miles is 52,800 feet. So that means she makes about 587 trips per day. Let's say that's over 12 hours. That's about 49 trips per hour or nearly one per minute, from one end of the house to the other, continuously, for 12 hours. You obviously made this up. How many more stories here are concocted?

Thanks KW, My wife is (in my oppinion) above average, and she is a heart attack survivor, and she still does an excellent job of house keeping. There is no way she could come close to running a 10 mile marathon. So I agree with you. This is made up HOG WASH!

Where did you get this data? Did you make it up?I'm a runner and a house maker. I know what 10 miles is because I run it often, and it is a lot further than you imagine. Did you actually attach a pedometer to a typical home maker and check this, or did you simply ask the person what she thought her average was? I've done many, many 10 mile runs and more and I have yet to see the day that I do 10 miles in house work. I think the average would be 2 miles, and that is on the high end. 10 miles on average for a housemaker? I don't think so. Not even close.

I would like to know where you get this data. Did you make it up? I've been doing housework for years and I've also been a runner for years. I know what it is like to run 10 miles, I know the distance very well. In all my years of doing house work I honestly don't think I've ever walked 10 miles in a single day. If I was to hazard a guess I'd say maybe 2 miles is average, though that would be on the high end. But 10 miles a day? On average? What a load of c***.
