Patrick Buchanan

Having been advisor to three presidents, a candidate for Republican presidential nominee twice, and the Reform party nominee once, Pat Buchanan has served a long and varied career in politics. He attended Catholic and Jesuit schools before receiving his degree in journalism in Columbia.

After his work at the White House, where he also served as a speech writer and attended four summits, he went on to begin the television shows "The McLaughlin Group," "Capital Gang," and "Crossfire." He joined MSNBC in 2002. Buchanan is also the author of eight books, including "Death of the West" and "Where the Right Went Wrong."
