Chores
I have raised three children that were all within 5 and a half years of age. When they were small there were many battles over who would get to ride in the front seat of the van when we went places and who was responsible for doing certain chores. To solve this, the chores were put on colored construction paper (red, blue, and green) and attached to the refrigerator. Each child had an index card with their name on it and a magnet was attached to the back. Each week I would place the name card above the colored paper that discribed the chores. Whoever had the red chore sheet would get to ride in the front seat for the whole week no matter how many times we went in the car. The next week the name cards would move to the next list of chores. The next child who had the red chore sheet would get to ride in the front seat for the week. I did this for many years and there was never any arguing over whose turn it was to ride in the front seat! By rotating chores none of my children had to do the same thing week after week.
