Journalist Rose Bennett Gilbert began her career writing about Southern houses in her home state of Virginia, and has gone on to write in many diverse fields. Today her focus is on decorating and interior design, a topic on which she has served as a guest lecturer, talk show guest, and teacher. She also travels across the United States to speak with homeowners.

Gilbert's expertise in interior design earned her the presidency of the New York Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association in 2002. Today, she contributes to many design and decorating magazines, as well as writing her own syndicated column.
