Just wanted to let you know I have the same turtle in my garden. Had to look up spelling of Dianthus to make sure it was right and I found some very interesting information to share with you. If this is the Ideal Violet Dianthus, it is one of five All-American Selection Classics in the world. It also won the AAS Bedding Award and was introduced in 1992. It is a cross of China Pinks and Sweet William. It was bred in the south of France by M. Guy Lassartesse. It has a great tolerance for both heat and cold and is a favorite of many gardeners. This information was from Parks Seeds and is # 4070. Hope you enjoyed this comment..........just because of the turtle. I also have them in my garden and enjoy the color.
