Plant freezing

From our own experience we've found that it will freeze back down to the ground, but that new starts will come from the bottom once the weather warms up again. I think if new growth is frozen off again, you could lose it completely. A good idea may to take cuttings before a freeze and start them inside over winter. We had to take this one way down after last winter's freeze. It stayed down around 25 degrees for two days. Made a mess of the yard to say the least!

What happens to the plant planted in the ground if it is subjected to tempatures around 30 or so for a couple of days.

It's not a big investment if you can find someone who has a tree already. They root easy from cuttings and you could keep it in a large pot on a porch or deck until it starts getting colder than 50 degrees. I don't know how it would do inside, but if you had it near a window where it could get some sun -- it should do just fine until summer again. They don't need a lot of water either but they do shed some big leaves -- laugh. Good luck if you try it.

Trumpet Lily Tree

Wow! This is magnificent. I've always wanted one but we don't own where we live so Don't want to put that kind of investment.
