W. Bruce Cameron

W. Bruce Cameron is probably best known for being the writer behind "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," the column (and later book) that inspired the popular Disney sitcom starring the late John Ritter. Before hitting it big, though, Cameron began his writing career at the age of 16, when he sold the first short story he ever wrote. From there, he went on to become a columnist for the Rocky Mountain News in 1998, and his humor column began syndication in 2001.

Cameron's "8 Simple Rules" made the New York Times Best Seller list in 2001, hitting No. 14 and selling out shortly after. His honors include the 2006 Robert Benchley Award for Humor (judged by Dave Barry) and recognition by the National Society of Newspaper Columnists as the No. 1 Humor Columnist in Newspapers.
