Ellen Goodman
Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Ellen Goodman started her career as a researcher for Newsweek, and moved on to become a reporter for the Detroit Free Press in 1965. Her innovative ideas concerning political editorials -- encouraging women to become more of a force on the op-ed page -- has earned her syndication in more than 375 newspapers nationwide.Goodman has also worked as a journalism professor at Stanford University, published six collections of her award-winning columns, and been recognized by organizations such as the American Society of Newspaper Editors and the Women's Research & Education Institute. Her ability to sense emerging shifts in society, as well as her wit and style, has made her a true "American original."
