Race and Politics

I had read about this couple a long time ago-their courage and perseverence was incredible. I'm in my 60's-my generation had it too easy. Those who are younger even more so. When you work for something it becomes more precious AND more enduring. Kennedy was young and inexperienced and untainted by fear. Young people accomplish much simply because they think they can and they have the energy to see it through. I like Obama's spirit, he sees the need to pull together. It's time to put aside our petty bickering and endles complaining. No matter how bad things are you can look around and see 100 more far worse off than you. Help your neighbor and you help yourself even more so.

A Loving Legacy

Mr. Page's statements about the Army seeing only one color in 1969 and being a level playing field shows that HE refuses to see a glaring inequality that affects females. Black MEN got the right to vote before any women and the army did become color blind to MEN, but I, too was in the Army at a time when we changed from being WACs to enlisted women. Believe me, race did not play a role in it - all women lived with everything from sexual harassment to sexual assault and He should do some research into what happened to EWs who were naieve enough to report it. We were locked out of many MOSs, nothing in combat arms was open to us. Does he know how many WACs were killed in Viet Nam. Its our dirty little secret and we don't talk about it.

When Hilary drops out or is forced out my vote goes for John. Sorry about that Rev Wright and his eltist remarks about church going people with guns in their rear windows was loud and clear. Neither of these two are working about bringing the country together. This young man has a lot to learn and we do not have the time to put up with it.
