Tales from the ArcaMax Chef

We are blessed to live in a neighborhood with plenty of kids around for the Jungle Boys (our 14 and 16 year old sons) to play with. Every day during the summer is filled with soccer games, kick ball games, biking, tennis, time at the pool and general mischief. Most summer nights are consumed with flashlight tag, sleep-overs and general nighttime mischief.

As an aside, the new subscribers may not know why our two youngest kids are called the Jungle Boys. The middle Jungle Boy was born eight years after our oldest son, the Millionaire-Want-A-Be. We had the Millionaire-Want-A-Be when we were both still in college and we took time off to finish our education and start our careers before trying for another kid. We tried for more than a year for the middle son and were very happy when we were blessed with a healthy, happy second son.

Eleven months after the middle Jungle Boy was born we moved into a new home. She Who Must Be Obeyed (my wife) picked out the house and we were very happy ... until we spent our first night in the house. She woke up feeling terrible with a headache and nausea. We were still in the process of moving and spent most of the day at the old house cleaning. She felt better as soon as we left the new house.

We spent the day cleaning the old house and returned to the new home in the early evening. Almost as soon as we stepped in the new house, She's headache and nausea returned. She spent the rest of the evening sick in bed.

We both had the same thought ... we had bought a sick house ...

Ben Stein wrote a regular column for years commenting on famous celebrities. His last column was published four years ago and is something we all need to re-read. After reading it, my concerns over life's inconveniences, seem very petty. Please take some time to read the column below and think of ways to help our troops. There are many organizations that provide excellent opportunities to do so. Our brave men and women in uniform deserve everything you can do and then some.

For many years Ben Stein has written a biweekly column called "Monday Night At Morton's." (Morton's is a famous chain of Steakhouses known to be frequented by movie stars and famous people from around the globe.) Now, Ben is terminating the column to move on to other things in his life. Reading his final column is worth a few minutes of your time.

God Bless America.

Enjoy!

I'm still waiting for the rest of the story about the sick house. I was really left hanging. What has Ben Stein and his columnm got to do with your house?
