who should have to explain

Darlene,

I personally don't think that this election is, nor should it ever be set as a platform for Bush to have to explain the record of his administration. I agree with Edward on several points, but most of all is the one where he said that Obams is a wimp, because that is exactly what he is. I for one wouldn't now or ever use him as an attorney for anything. And, likewise, I will not now or ever vote for him!

Yes, maybe Bush has vetoed bills that included monetary supplements aimed at war veterans, however, the wonderful Democratic leaders in Congress who refused to work with him on any legislation, only have themselves to blame for that.

I, personally, will be so glad when this whole election business is over with so I don't have to listen to or read about it everytime I turn around.

One thing we can count on ....if Obama wins, we will see gas prices soar even higher than they already are now and you can bet your boots that taxes will be twice what they are now. Won't that be a fine How Do You Do? But I can guarnatee that there won't be any negative press about it either because our extremely liberal media press will be sure to see to that. They all make me sick! There isn't an unbiased bone in their bodies.

Obama's a wimp who has not served in the military or even volunteered. Typical ACLU laywer. He wants to be President? What gall. His and the democrats no drilling for oil is stupid. They would rather have $4+ dollar gas than build refineries, drill for more oil here. Pushing global warming that no one believes in to raise TAXES, pie in the sky cars that no one can afford, or would not want. Obama's YES WE CAN, bankrup America plan. Darlene, I bet you have never raised a finger to help anyone but yourself, let alone served your country. He makes millions, while I have an income of $1491.00. He ought to try buying gas on that income. I have had to stop going to doctors because I do not have the money for gas. I just got out of the hospital Sunday for congestive heart failure. YES WE CAN bankrup America.

Why do we continue to give press to Wesley Clark and his inane opinions?

Shame on you Wesley Clark...In order to keep our freedon, we have to have a military. I'm an Independent, and I know we need men like McCain in our military. There are good men dying for our country, as we speak. I wonder how those against war would explain to the families of those who gave their life, it was needless. If Clinton had not closed all the military bases, to balance the budget, we would be prepared to handle world problems that come up. As it stands, our soldiers, are overworked, underpaid, and not given the medical care our congress gets...

Courage Under Fire

It is truly amazing how someone can make a decision about someone else's character, potential and ability when racism is clouding their reasoning. Obviously the author's opinion are full of this. If Barack Obama were any one other than someone who chose to identify himself as African American, some of the "shots" he has taken would be absent. Not to say that he is right on all of his issues, b/c I strongly disagree with some of them, but to say that he discards relationships for convenience sake is just wrong. This is politics, and we all should know by now that this is a viciously, intense environment, with the main objective of winning. Neither McCain nor Obama is a saint, they are simply two decent men who are vying for a very important office, and the way they fight is the norm. Although, I have to say that Obama has a more difficult road b/c he has to try to appeal to everyone, and his ethnicity is mentioned constantly to remind those who are sick with the thought of a person of color assuming the presidency colors their every waking thought to consider his color when they go to the vote. I really believe that if Jesus Christ were to come back to earth and it was revealed that he was Black, I would love to see some of the reactions. Racism is alive and well in this campaign, and it is a shame.

total failure of our educational system

Once again, we see the total failure of our educational system rearing its ugly head! Can we say total loss of critical thinking? Can we say rewriting the facts? Can we say ignoring the truth? Oh, that's right, that is the purpose of our new and better educational system... In short re-writing history to suite our own adgenda..

Kerry's Swift Boat Courage? Hmmm, seems as though I remember several people he served with questioning that he ahd any...

Bush and Reagan both led men.
Sure, Reagan's leadership may not have been in the military, but he did run several large organizations.
Bush did have military experience, maybe not in a war, but he still served.

On the other hand, Clark did have his command TAKEN away from him for failure to perform.

Obama has not held any kind of a leadership role and on top of that instead of negotiating a settlement with his now infamous pastor, he simply walked away from a purported relationship of over 20 years...

What can we read into this - Well, lets see, how about Clark is incompetent and Obama is a spoiled brat who turns his back on you when he doesn't get his way.

And you people want to compare the leadership ability of McCain, Bush and Reagan with Clark and Obama???

Obviously another perfect example of the failure of the American Education System!!!

Making mountains out of a molehill. Creating a tempest in a teapot!!!!

What evidence is there of anything that gets brought up about past experience is relevant to the running for an office?

So much gets dragged out about every candidate.

My concern is what from someone's past life can predict success in the office of the president.

To what extent is business experience relevant?
To what extent is war experience? To what extent is education? To what extent is thinking process skills? Decision making?

I would like evidence of the past behaviors of someone demonstrates that being the chief executive of the governing of this country is significant. Every comment in the newspaper, television on the internet is nothing more than a 'tempest in a teapot' UNTIL someone can point to a positive correlation of some past experience that demonstrates success as the chief executive of this country.

More and more palaver that says nothing except personal bias towards a candidate...a waste of time, space, and even responding to!!!

One would think Obama could find someone better to trash mcCain. After all McCain never had his command taken away from him, but Clark did.

Why are these people turning their backs on W. Bush and R. Reagan for their lack of military experience in war (under fire)?

controversial statements

What is worth fighting about or for? Evidently the right to earn the right to be president is worth fighting about. But only verbally. If the Cold War had only been all verbal at the Presidential level....it was all verbal until somebody died for their freedom of speech and the question is the value and justification for sacrifice and that is where there is increasingly a difference between Democrats (liberals) and Republicans (conservatives). Giving an order is an exercise in freedom of speech until the "chain of command" is given consideration and then the "buck stops" you know where!
