Ms. Huffington highlights some valid trends. What she fails to grasp is the need for a third-party, starting anew, that offers the leadership necessary for sweeping reforms in our government spending, tax, military, education, health care, energy, immigration and campaign financing systems. It will never come from the special-interest, pandering Democrats or Republicans.
In reality, it doesn't matter who wins the 2008 U.S. presidential election because they will be hamstrung by the people who put them in power to serve their narrow interests.

Righr or Left
It seems that the kidnapping of rationality has been affirmed. Bush and company have negated the Constitution, and established a Plutocracy. I fear that he will find an excuse to declare that we are under threat so he can cancell the next election. I'm old enough that I'm not too concerned, but I have a son that is just getting started in making a difference in getting to a better world, and I really fear for his children.
They may not have a good life to look forward to.

Getting the facts straight
Adrianna, please. Since when has the views of the American people shifted so far to the left? I'm not seeing this at all. On the contrary, just the opposite is true.
Global warming is still a myth whether the left chooses to accept it or not. Twenty years ago we were in an ice age. More scientists disprove the THEORY of global warming than there are that do. For any man-made affirmation, I need proof. So far, the left has not provided it. All I have seen since leaving the left, is ineptitude and deception. Now that I have grown up and apart from the radical left, I can see clearer. When will you, and your ilk, grow up?

The new moderates
The failed policies of this administration have exposed the bankruptcy of the extreme right's rigid ideologies. No good can come from thinking that's mired in fear, anger, denial and hubris. The Democratic party's center has become the new home for moderates.

Dear Ms. Huffington,
Thank you for hiding an affirmation of the correctness of the right in your piece asserting a shift in the political mind of the country. I quote two of your sentences:
"Right is no longer the opposite of left. It is the opposite of wrong."
Thank you,
An unrepentent member of the Right

Why Right is Still in Charge
I believe that a majority of Americans still feel that what's effecting their neighbors..the economy, higher gas prices, the housing slump, the money spent on the war in Iraq...is not really effecting them. They see it as 'the other person's problem'. But in reality they too are being horribly affected by the right's continuing mishandling of our government and the right's failing policies. I also believe that it's too late for some Americans to even realize that they have now become 'the other person'.
