Alexander Cockburn
Political journalist Alexander Cockburn (pronounced CO-burn) began his career at the University of Oxford, working as a reporter and commentator in London. He wrote for publications such as Esquire and Harper's after moving to the United States, and wrote for The Village Voice until 1983. Since then, he has also worked as a columnist for the Wall Street Journal, New Statestman, and others.Cockburn is known for his unconventional political views and perspective outside the US mainstream. He has written more than a dozen books since 1967, as well as releasing the CD "Beating the Devil: The Incendiary Rants of Alan Cockburn." Although known for his outspokenness and acerbic style, he also brings humor and irony to his writings and criticsms of modern government.
