Chris Durst, who grew up on a small farm in Connecticut, founded the virtual assistant industry in the early 1990s. Now a CNN regular, she continues to live in rural Connecticut. Co-author Mike Haaren is a former Wall Street lawyer now living in northern Virginia after spending time as a writer in Paris.
Together, the two have made more than 200 media appearances, including TV shows such as "20/20" and print publications including Reader's Digest and The Washington Post. They also run the Web site RatRaceRebellion.com, as well as writing for Military.com and co-authoring the best-selling books "The 2-Second Commute" and "Work at Home Now."
