How Can I Know That I'll Make the Right Decisions?

By Billy Graham, Tribune Media Services
Q: I'm just starting my senior year in high school, and suddenly it's really hit me that I've got a lot of major decisions to make in the next few months -- things like college. How can I know I'll make the right decisions? -- K.L.

A: Life is full of decisions -- as you are discovering. Some are minor and relatively insignificant but others are major (even if we don't realize it at the time), and they can have enormous consequences. I'm thankful you aren't taking these lightly.

The most important advice I can give you is to seek God's will in the decisions you face. Does God care about them? Of course He does -- and the reason is because He cares about you, and He wants what's best for you. When we make a wrong decision and go the wrong way, God grieves over our foolishness, because He knows we are only hurting ourselves. The Bible warns, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death" (Proverbs 14:12).

Don't rely only on your own wisdom, or even on the wisdom of others (although their advice has its place). Instead, ask God to guide you and show you His will. Remember: His way is always best -- always. God's promise is for you: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go" (Psalm 32:8).

How can you know God's will? First, make sure of your commitment to Jesus Christ; if you have never asked Him to come into your life, do so today. Then pray about your decisions, and trust Him to open the right doors for you.

if you seek God's light thru prayer in these times of your life, He will enlighjten your mind and direct you to the right and wise decisions.Pray to the holy spirit, the source of knowledge and wisdom, and be trusting in Him, that every thought, words and deed you make, will be according to God's will and plan, for God is a compassionate and almighty God, who hears and answers prayers.we pary for our youth, that they wil be guided by God's divine light always, especially in their studies, their whole future, amen.

Regarding this all I can advise it that you should seek God's will first and after then just do the plain thing everyone else do, ASK, the bible says in Proverb 11:14 that in a multitude of counselors there's safety.

So just get counselling from your pastor in addition to seeking God first. It works you can never go wrong with God.
