How Do You Share the Gospel with Today's Youth?
By Billy Graham, Tribune Media Services
Q: I work in an office of mostly younger people who have absolutely no
interest in God. They don't have any objection if someone like me
wants to be a Christian but they're just too wrapped up in their own
interests to think about God. How do you share the Gospel with someone
like this? -- Mrs. N.N.
A: Often, I've found, the hardest person to talk to about spiritual matters is the one who feels absolutely no need of God. Unfortunately, more and more people are going in this direction as our society becomes more and more secular.
But this doesn't mean a person with no apparent interest in God is living a full and satisfying life. In fact, the opposite is often the case. They get caught up in a mad scramble for happiness, or success, or approval, or pleasure, or any of a number of other things that consume them. Their goal is like that of the rich man in one of Jesus' parables: "Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry" (Luke 12:19).
The tragedy, however, is that eventually they will discover these things can't give them lasting happiness. If they are honest, they'll be forced to say with the writer of Ecclesiastes, "I denied myself nothing my eyes desired ... (yet) everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind" (Ecclesiastes 2:10-11).
Pray for those you work with and ask God to give them a hunger for Himself. Pray, too, that you will be a witness to Christ by the way you live -- by your Christlike love, peace, joy, patience and so forth. Then don't be afraid to question their goals, pointing them instead to Jesus, who came "that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10).

God has had me working with kids for the past 14 years, and one of the best ways to win a child over is to be REAL. Kids can spot a phony a mile away. Another thing I have learned about kids is they think they are invicible (ofcourse so did I at their age). The way to share the gospel with today's youth is to stay consistant, don't give up. I believe that the main thing we have against us is PEER PRESSURE, but God can overcome PEER PRESSURE, so stay consistant in sharing.

Young People
I taught young people for years. Unfortunately, they are living in a completely different world. Most of their parents grew up in the late 60's and 70's had a different aspect on life. Woodstock for one. In talking to them we need to bring ourselves down (I don't mean to give up our love for the Lord) to their level in a way to try to understand why they feel the way they do. It is very difficult to do in many cases. Pray first of all for the Lord to guide you, give you the wisdom and understanding. To prepare "their" hearts to what you mention in conversation. We must learn to always be there for them. Just offering to pray with them (if the occasion arises) means alot. We must not sound like we are preaching "at" them. Talk "with" them By using ourselves as an example as to what the Lord has done in our life. How Jesus suffered and died for each of us that we may have eternal life. It's hard, I know, but the one big thing is let them feel comfortable around you. Then little by little give them food for thought..

Young People
Young people are a funny breed. I would have to say that 95% of my ministry has been to young people.
The best way to reach a young person is to show an interest in their lives, a little at a time, not being pushy, but just being there to talk to, and a willingness to listen.
The best times I have had with the young men I have mentored was just talking and listening.
Have a party at your house one day and invite them over, or a cookout, to get to know them.
I would have to say that 90% of what I have learned by experience in the ministry, I have learned through them.
I have mentored over 30 young men over the past 25 years, and even though some were very difficult, I would not trade it for anything.
God Bless
