White couldn’t play Ra1 right away because the Black rook would have time to defend by attacking f2, so White puts the Black rook into a position where it has to move to h6, and then everything works. 1.Ra8 Rh6 2.Ra1 Rh8 3.Rg1 Ra8 4.Rg3 fxg3+ 5.fxg3#
