Car 'flew off the road,' landed on California playground slide

RICHMOND, Calif. (UPI) -- Police in California said there were no serious injuries when a car "flew off the road" and landed on a church playground's slide.
The Richmond Police Department shared photos on Facebook showing the 2006 Toyota Camry leaning against the Yiu Mienh Baptist Church's playground slide after a mother lost control of her car around noon Saturday while driving with her 7-year-old son in the car.
The car "drove onto the sidewalk, into a cyclone fence, slid like a skateboard on rails, down the embankment, and onto the slide," police said.
"We are extremely fortunate that staff at the church decided not to have children playing in the playground due to lack of staffing! Someone was looking out for everyone there!!" police wrote in the Facebook post.
The driver of the "flying car" was ticketed for driving without a license and driving off the road. She was also ticketed for not using a child safety seat after officers determined the 7-year-old had been sitting in the front seat without a booster.
